Buttery Mushrooms

Side of Mushrooms

A side of mushrooms is perfect next to a good quality, steak and can easily be cooked whilst your steak is grilling.

This dish is super simple and is just a rough guide of ingredients.  Just cook with your heart ♥

If you want a runner sauce, then add some cream at step 8 and stir to warm through and thicken.  I prefer a chunky more rustic style so I don’t bother with the cream.

Ingredients:

  • a bag of mushrooms or more
  • lots of butter
  • lots of garlic
  • a good shake or two of Italian herbs

Method:

  1. Pre-heat frying pan on medium heat.
  2. Roughly chop mushrooms but not too small
  3. Add about 200g butter to the pan to melt
  4. Whilst melting micro-plane lots of garlic into the pan
  5. Add mushrooms and stir to coat in butter
  6. Keep stirring whilst mushrooms cook and soften
  7. Add another 100g or so of butter to melt
  8. Shake your Italian herbs over your mushrooms and stir to combine
  9. Once butter is all melted and mushrooms are soft, stir and remove to a serving dish
  10. Serve with your favourite steak, chicken or pork chop
