Slow Cooker Lamb Shoulder

There is something magical about the aroma that fills the house as your lamb shoulder simmers away in the slow cooker. This is the easiest Winter dish you’ll make.  The cooking of this dish requires minimal effort but the flavourful and tender lamb is a delight to eat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Lamb Shoulder
  • 3-4 tbps of Italian Herbs or your favourite spice mix
  • lemon zest (optional)

Method:

  1. Place lamb shoulder into your slow cooker
  2. Sprinkle/cover liberally with your spice mix
  3. Add lemon zest if using
  4. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.  The longer the better.
  5. Once cooked the meat will be soft, tender and succulent.  You’ll know when it’s done as you’ll be able to remove the bone with your fingers.
  6. About an hour before you want to eat, throw a tray of vegies into the oven to roast eg potatoes, pumpkin, beetroot, zucchini and cauliflower.
  7. You can also create a Lebanese plate with shredded lamb, tabouleh, tzatziki dip and flat bread.
