Welcome to our Winter Newsletter for 2018.
We fell off the horse in writing newsletters a while back…. With a good amount of rest under our belt this month we bring you news from the farm, some tips for your winter garden, some help around food programs and some kitchen inspiration too.
Winter on the farm is a bit of a slower time. The cold weather isn’t good for motivation, time is spent feeding stock and checking the pregnant Mum’s to be, or watching closely the new generation as they get about on a sunny winter day.
All told so far this winter it has been quite mild compared to what it could be. With hardly a frost so far this year everybody is relishing the good weather, but Dads still been busy cutting fire wood for the cold that will arrive soon no doubt…..He and Mum have gone to see my sister and her family on their farm in New Zealand… I joked with Dad when he was flying out that he would be cutting wood in two countries this July……fancy going from one farm to another for your holiday!
In this issue you can read about one of my recent trips out bush, Will gives some good tips on herbs in small spaces and Michele give some guidance through the maze of eating programmes. I hope there is something here that catches your eye. Let us know if there is something in our space that we can give you information on.
I hope you enjoy the first in the seasonal newsletter series, we will see you in the spring time!
